The Gilgandra and district community continues to generously support GDCF with donations received from individuals, organisations and community groups throughout the year.

A raffle is held each year and the winner drawn on the Cancer Council noted Daffodil Day. A street stall is also held where the community generously donates a range of saleable items on the day.

The GDCF Community Calendar is produced yearly, funded by advertisers and committees to be handed out to the community free of charge.

A major benefit night was organised in 2011 by a passionate group of locals. The “Footy Codes Shave for Cancer” included local Gilgandra Panthers & Gular Rugby players and friends shaving their heads to raise money with a variety of donated items being auctioned on the night. A massive $63,177.42 was raised, this large injection of funds has enabled our organisation to;

  • Purchase new equipment ie. portable and non-portable oxygen concentrators,  a hospital grade mattress an up-lift chair and a syringe driver.
  • Provide financial assistance to clients.
  • Construction of a new patio for the MPS Daffodil Room.

A range of equipment owned by GDCF is available for use which enables patients to stay longer in their homes; shower chairs, wheelchairs, portable oxygen concentrator, pressure relieving mattress, up-lift chair etc.

All information and requests for assistance will be strictly confidential, please contact your local Community Nurse.
